Challenge
Cambridge Neighbors had been operating on a separate platform, which is a legacy system designed for clubs and associations, but one that offered limited flexibility for nonprofits looking to modernize their web presence.
Content updates were difficult to manage, the design felt outdated, and the overall user experience was not aligned with the warmth, clarity, and accessibility of the organization’s mission. Staff needed a platform that allowed them to make regular updates without technical support, present information more clearly, and better connect with both members and prospective supporters.
The new website had to reflect the spirit of the Village Movement: welcoming, human-centered, and easy to navigate — for all age groups.
Solution
WP New England delivered a complete redesign and platform migration, moving Cambridge Neighbors from ClubExpress to WordPress. The new site was structured around key audiences — members, volunteers, and supporters — with simplified navigation and a content system that made information easy to find and manage.
We developed flexible page layouts for programs, resources, events, and news — all editable through a user-friendly interface designed for non-technical staff. The visual design prioritized readability and trust, using warm colors, large type, and welcoming imagery to reflect the organization’s values.
The end result is a site that not only meets accessibility standards and mobile responsiveness but also gives the team full control over updates. Cambridge Neighbors can now manage their online presence confidently and effectively, with a website that truly supports aging in place.
