WP New England helped a local nonprofit reimagine their website to better align with their mission and audience.
Client
Cambridge Neighbors is a nonprofit and leader in the national village movement. They provide a range of practical services, social opportunities, and resources to enhance quality of life and well being throughout the aging process
Challenge
Originally built on a custom website platform, Cambridge Neighbors found difficulty in updating their website or making changes to make it exactly how they would want it. In addition to being difficult to work with, the website was outdated with no real structure or content hierarchy. It was not fully responsive on all devices and not optimized for its target audience, who may have accessibility issues.
Solution
We helped rebuild the website on WordPress and setup a backend system that would easily allow them to go in and make small changes as needed; we continue to work with them on more difficult changes and updates. Additionally, we gave the website a full design refresh, with an emphasis on accessibility, larger font sizes, and a clean color scheme. The website is fully responsive on all devices, which is especially important as this continues to be emphasized by search engines like Google in terms of ranking and even indexing.
