A full rebrand from College 101 along with a new vision meant a brand new website was underway.
Client
Originally College 101, Postsecondary Commission is a nonprofit working to become a new federally recognized accreditor with a focus on economic outcomes for students. They aim to change the accreditor landscape by emphasizing transparency and wage outcomes for the universities and colleges they accredit.
Challenge
In addition to the rebrand, the website itself needed a completely fresh start. The previous website ran into a problem we see all too much: there was a heavy emphasis on using plugins to achieve specific functionalities, with over 30 plugins installed. In these scenarios, the plugins themselves can become burdensome, not only slowing down the site and adding complexity to the database, but requiring more maintenance and updates to prevent things from breaking.
Solution
We worked with Postsecondary Commission’s team to scope out the style guide and brand guidelines that the new website would adhere to. Next, we reimagined the site structure, helping create clarity around pages, including the numerous reports and analytics that PSC would share on the website. We completely rebuilt the website using our proprietary tech stack, which helped eliminate 75% of plugins, simultaneously simplifying the backend of the new site while speeding up the frontend.
