Postsecondary Commission

Postsecondary Commission (PSC), formerly known as College101.org, is a nonprofit organization working to become a federally recognized accreditor for higher education institutions that produce measurable economic outcomes for students. PSC’s approach shifts the focus from traditional input-based measures to outcome-driven accountability, with a particular emphasis on wage gains and career mobility for graduates.

Led by an independent board of commissioners, PSC prioritizes transparency, data-driven standards, and accessibility. By reimagining the role of accreditation, PSC aims to support institutions committed to delivering real-world value and economic mobility to their students.

Challenge

With the transition from College101.org to the Postsecondary Commission, the organization needed a website that reflected its new identity and elevated its mission. The existing site lacked a cohesive structure, strong branding, and the ability to communicate PSC’s innovative model in clear, accessible terms.

The challenge was to:

  • Translate a complex, data-driven accreditation model into a user-friendly digital experience

  • Build trust and authority with stakeholders, institutions, and the public

  • Create a scalable platform for frequent content updates and evolving regulatory information

  • Fully support the new brand identity and vision through modern design and thoughtful content hierarchy

In addition, PSC needed to publish a wide range of materials — including accreditation standards, policy documents, and datasets — while maintaining readability and accessibility. These resources needed to be presented in a way that aligned with the organization’s commitment to transparency, without overwhelming visitors with dense or disorganized content.

The site also had to serve as a home for ongoing updates to the recognition process, including showcasing partner institutions, highlighting outcomes-driven insights, and surfacing key milestones over time. That meant building a flexible system that could evolve as PSC moved closer to federal recognition, without requiring a full rebuild at each step.

Solution

WP New England delivered a fully reimagined website designed to support both PSC’s new brand identity and its regulatory mission. The project began with a content-first strategy, structuring information around the needs of PSC’s key audiences — institutions, policymakers, and the general public. A new site architecture was developed to simplify navigation, clarify messaging, and surface core content like accreditation standards, recognition progress, and outcomes methodology.

To support transparency and ease of use, we created flexible content templates for publishing a wide range of materials, including PDFs, policy updates, board announcements, and outcome data. Rather than forcing all documents into static pages or downloads, key content was restructured into accessible web-native formats when possible, improving usability and search visibility.

The design emphasized trust and clarity, using a clean, professional aesthetic that reflects PSC’s credibility while remaining approachable. Every page was built with responsive behavior in mind to ensure accessibility across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

On the backend, we implemented a modular content system that allows PSC staff to manage updates, add new resources, and grow the site over time without needing developer support. Custom fields and pre-built layout components give the team flexibility to expand their publishing efforts while maintaining design consistency.

The end result is a scalable, mission-aligned platform that strengthens PSC’s position as a modern accreditor and thought leader in outcomes-based higher education.
