The Commission for Public Higher Education (CPHE) was founded by six major public university systems. Their official mission is:
“CPHE’s mission is to advance the quality and improvement of higher education by accrediting and pre-accrediting state public colleges and universities that are incorporated, chartered, licensed, or authorized in the United States. CPHE will serve as the institutional accrediting agency for state public colleges and universities that award associates, bachelor’s, and/or higher degrees.”
As a new entity pioneering a “by publics, for publics” model, CPHE required a highly credible, secure, and stable digital platform. The goal was to establish immediate authority within the higher education sector while providing a transparent space for accreditation standards, public comments, and institutional collaboration.
